I support teaching staff in delivering curriculum topics, by working with students at all key stages.
My methods using story and interweaving creative methods drawn from the principles of accelerated learning and integrative art therapy help to inspire and engage students in the learning process, enriching more formal curriculum activity, and thus contribute to better educational outcomes. It is particularly noteworthy how students who relate less well to conventional educational approaches respond well to a skilful mixture of storytelling and working with story structures, integrated with other forms of creativity which I bring to bear.
You can read something about how this can work with Able, Gifted and Talented students too, in an article by educational journalist Sally McKeown in Teaching Expertise magazine about Storytelling as an enrichment activity.
I can not only help teaching staff create a legacy of this closer student engagement with the learning process, but I support the staff themselves through INSET/CPD days to inspire and revitalise, re-engaging their teaching creativity and building team spirit. In effect, I work with teachesr to enhance what students want or need.
On a lighter note, I also deliver end of term ‘fun days’ for the students. For more detail follow storytelling in education
